Is your product clean?

 While “clean” isn’t technically regulated, our product is safe and tested! We have also followed the clean guidelines set forth by retailers like Credo Beauty & Sephora. Who can use your product?

All skin types and skin tones, including sensitive skin. Before using a product for the first time, we recommend a patch test. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) provides a detailed explanation on how to patch test a product, link here.

Does your product work for all skin types?

Yes, this product was designed with all skin types and tones in mind.

Is your product vegan and cruelty-free?

Our product is vegan and cruelty free. We don’t test on animals and have verified with our ingredient suppliers that they do not test on animals either.

How do you test your product for safety?

We conducted an independent clinical study and consumer perception study to ensure safety. A certified lab ran a formula stability and packaging compatibility testing, PET (Preservative Efficacy Testing), and micro testing on our product to test that the finished formula is safe and continues to be once you open the product. The lab also conducted HRIPTs (Human Repeat Insult Patch Tests) on our product to test the potential to cause skin reactivity, irritation, or allergic contact dermatitis.

Is your packaging eco-friendly and recyclable?

Our outer box is 100% recyclable. It also uses materials that are made up of at least 50% post-consumer content (recycled waste), and soy-based ink, which is non-toxic to the environment. Soy-based ink is considered to be more environmentally friendly than petroleum-based ink because it is made from a renewable resource, helps reduce the volatile organic compounds (VOCs), is more biodegradable, and is typically easier to remove during paper recycling. The glass jars are also recyclable. We recommend checking with your local municipality to ensure recyclability.

Can I use your product with a retinoid?

We recommend skin cycling since the face mask contains a polyhydroxy acid (PHA)! We recommend using your retinoid / retinol on evenings you did not use the face mask.

Is it normal to feel tingling or flushing?

For some people, this is a normal reaction. As the exfoliating acid works its magic, it may cause a slight tingling or flushing sensation as it adjusts the skin’s pH. If you experience any discomfort, please discontinue, and seek advice from a skincare professional. Before using a product for the first time, always patch test.

Can I use this product if I have sensitive skin or redness?

Yes, the formula was created with sensitive skin in mind (the founder herself has sensitive skin)! Before using a product for the first time, always patch test.

Is the product silicone-free, paraben-free, phthalate free?

Yes!

Is your product fragrance free?

Yes! The founder personally is very sensitive to scents / fragrances, so opted to make the product unscented. Some of the ingredients, like the saffron, cucumber, and rose water, naturally scented the product, but the scent will fade over time. We are hoping to create a scented version soon for our fragrance-lovers!

Is your product color-free?

Yes! The product’s color comes naturally from the saffron and kaolin clay. This was important to us when we were formulating.

Can I use this when I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Congratulations! This face mask was formulated with gentle and safe ingredients commonly safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding. That said, you should always check with your doctor and/or OBGYN first.
