In Persian, the word “Ziba” means beautiful. Growing up, my grandmother would teach me her rituals of grinding aromatic spices and blooms like saffron and rose water into a paste and gently massaging this elixir into my skin. She taught me that real beauty and strength come from within. These cultural traditions and skincare rituals passed down for centuries weren’t just cosmetic but also designed to instill that wisdom. Ziba honors and celebrates the notion that true beauty shines from the inside out.
As the daughter of Persian immigrants growing up in a small, Midwestern town, I learned to balance my Persian culture with my American upbringing. My parents named me Shayda Michele to honor both cultures. Ziba brings together the time-honored skincare rituals passed down through generations with a modern-day formula.

My passion for skincare was sparked at a young age as I learned ancient Persian beauty rituals from my grandmother, mom, and aunts. This passion translated into a professional career spanning work with clinical dermatology brands to global cosmetic companies. Throughout my career, I have been inspired by the increasing number of culturally-influenced brands brought to market, celebrating traditions through skincare rituals. I dreamed that one day, I too, could honor my heritage by crafting a skincare line featuring treasured ingredients that remain largely unknown in today’s products for people to both benefit from and experience for themselves.

We tested and perfected our balanced fusion of time-honored ingredients with scientific innovations to craft the dream skincare elixir I had long envisioned.
